Hello friends. Welcome to springfest, the spanglish edition. This is where we pretend there are no cold fronts or snow still trying to melt on the ground. This is where that scene from The Secret Garden where everything is blooming takes places. This is where we celebrate the start of spring on April 25th! Grab a seat and enjoy. Today we are discussing five things to celebrate the coming of this mythical season, no matter how delayed it's been. These are my picks and I plan on doing all of them now that higher temps are on the horizon:

How are you celebrating this very awaited season?

Also, Grizz and I are doing the Bark for Life walk in the Anoka area this Saturday so if you're around feel free to stop by, say hi and support the cause!

I'm bitter, you guys. I want to crawl into a hole, find that liar of a groundhog and punch him in the face. It seems that just when the snow melts and I get my hopes up, more snow falls on us and it is driving me crazy. I am still the eternal optimist though and I am certain spring will come very very soon. In the mean time, I am just going to go ahead and pretend this spring is what it's supposed to be and enjoy it in my head. *I will say this is mostly Pinterest's fault*

This is what I'll be wearing...

If you are part of world where spring actually sprung then I am so happy for you but if you're not, then you guys are more than welcome to join in the pretend celebrations! Welcome to Springfest 2013, the spanglish edition.

I know I have been lazy/absent from this blog but as April starts (what? how did that happen?) I want to show a few of my favorite things from this past month.

First up, is my favorite scent. Ralph by Ralph Lauren used to be my signature scent in high school/college but I stopped wearing it because I wanted to play around with other perfumes to see what else was out there. I recently rediscovered it and love it just as much as I did before.

My favorite person is Beth, mainly because we've been saying we need to get together and just haven't made any official plans and I think that we need to make this happen, lady!

Rosehip seed oil is a favorite beauty product and I know I have mentioned it before when I talked about my skin care regimen but I just can't say enough great things about it. I started using it on a couple scars from surgery years ago because it worked on my brother's scars (now you can't even tell that he ever had accidents) and I know my face is loving it too. (I have oily skin and it might be counter intuitive but it works!)

I have been snacking on strawberries non stop every time I need a pick me up. Sometimes I even put the tiniest bit of sugar and lemon juice and it is delicious. Best snack!

Since bikini season is coming I have decided I need to take control over those extra lbs and my two favorite helpers have been these cool little apps. NTC (Nike Training Club) is great to find all sorts of workouts depending on your physical level, intensity and what you want to get out of it (get lean, get toned, get strong, etc) Pretty neat. The other one is My Fitness Pal and it has changed my whole perception of what I eat on a daily basis--Who knew a concrete mixer form Culver's was 1000 calories!. You set your profile with your actual measures/weight, set your goals and it tells you how many calories you should get daily to achieve that goal. While it is basically a calorie counter, you don't only enter the food you eat, but your water consumption and the workouts you've done. It is crazy comprehensive and really user friendly.

Favorite music category goes to Imagine Dragons. I have been listening to this album pretty much every day and can't get enough of it. Their song Underdog is so good.

As far as hair products go, I have been loving this Garnier Moroccan oil treatment especially before I blow dry. It leaves my hair feeling so luxe and soft and like I did my hair at a salon. I also got the Clear shampoo and conditioner (you know, those Heidi Klum commercials) and I only wash my hair twice a week so I haven't used them that much but I think it's going to be an absolute repurchase for a long time.

Favorite make up product goes to the Revlon Colorstay for oily/combo skin. This is hands down the best foundation I have ever tried and it is drugstore, thank you very much.

Lastly, Revenge. Sundays have never been so good to me. I got JB hooked on it with the first season but then he got bored. I got even more hooked and absolutely look forward to it every week.

Wowzers, that was kind of a long list. What did you love this past month? Let me know in the comments below so I can try new things in April!
